US Marine Corps Diversity Day at Camp Lejeune Hector Javier, Julia Yip, Monica Moon 10/20/06   NAAAP-North Carolina participated in the US Marine Corps Diversity Heritage Day last Oct. 20 at the Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. There were food and information booths, presentations, and performances by the various cultural groups that represented the Asian, Native American, African-American, Hispanic, and European backgrounds of the military and civilian population of Camp Lejeune, as well as by visiting officers of the German Bundeswehr. Special thanks go to First Lt. Monica Moon (USMC), one of a small handful of Asian-American female lieutenants serving in the entire US Marines, for inviting NAAAP to this event.
